Carved Red Rose Necklace

I have created this striking necklace using round and oval beads of red Bamboo Coral and round salmon-pink Bamboo Coral, set with an exquisitely carved, dark pink, 10mm Bamboo Coral rose centrepiece.

I have highlighted the rose with sparkly 4mm Swarovski ‘rosewater opal’ bicones and tiny gold vermeil beads.

The necklace is embellished with Tibetan style barrel beads, and fastens with a Tibetan style, rose shaped toggle clasp.

The clasp and barrel beads have an antique gold finish, and are nickel and lead free.

Th necklace measures approximately 43cm (17 inches)

Bamboo Coral is a deep sea coral, that is naturally a light brown colour, resembling bamboo.

It is dyed for the jewellery trade, usually a deep red to resemble the rare and highly protected Red Coral.

In ancient times Coral was thought to protect the wearer against danger and evil enchantments.

Coral as a traditional gift for the 35th wedding anniversary.
